At St Mary’s, we believe in every-member ministry—a church where many people play a part in leading and serving.
We’re committed to healthy, Christ-like leadership, and we structure church life to encourage it at every level.

Rob Phillips
Rector
About Rob
Rob moved to us from London, where he worked at a city-centre church before training for ministry at Oak Hill College. Before that, he worked as a financial regulator in the City/Canary Wharf. Rob became a Christian at university, having started out pretty sceptical, and still enjoys thinking about how faith makes sense for those with doubts. He’s married to Claire, and together they have three young children who keep life lively. When there’s a quiet moment, Rob likes keeping active, spending time with friends, watching sci-fi films—and he still hasn’t quite shaken off his love of electronic dance music.

Tom Woodbridge
Associate Minister
About Woody
Woody is the Associate Minister, having previously completed his curacy here following his training at Oak Hill College. Before that he worked at a church in Central London as well as for Christians in Sport. Tom is married to Rosie and they have two daughters, Lily and Bethany. He loves sport, including following the (near) successes of Tottenham Hotspur as well as attempting to hold onto his dwindling playing careers in football and cricket.

Caroline West
Assistant Minister: Children and Women
About Caroline
Caroline is a Curate who specialises in Women and Children’s ministry. Originally an Oncology nurse, she took a year out to work as a Ministry Trainee over 30 years ago and loved it so much she stayed! She trained for ordination at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. She has a passion to see women and children faithfully taught the Bible and to live for Christ as their Lord & Saviour. Her ideal day off is a walk and pub lunch with friends.

Nathan Prior
Youth Worker
About Nathan
Nathan has recently joined the team as the youth worker. Before that he worked at Christchurch Bromley as a ministry trainee and youth worker, attending Cornhill training also. He is married to Katrina, who is part of the church family. In his spare time, he loves good walks, anything sport (particularly football and rugby) or food related (might have something to do with his South African roots).

Jill Forsyth
Operations Director
About Jill
Jill joined us as Operations Director in March 2023 after a long career as a lawyer. She has found a real joy and sense of purpose in using her talents in this new role at St Mary’s…and has learned a few more skills too! Jill is married to Neil and they have a grown up son, Alex. In her spare time Jill enjoys walking with her dog, regular gym sessions, reading and watching films.

Janet Waldock
Hospitality Lead
About Janet
Janet is married to Keith. They have two grown up daughters who are both married and have given them grandchildren. Janet worked in the hospitality industry before she had her family. This is where she learnt the skills to organise events which provide good food and a warm welcome. The ‘Good News’ presented in the Bible is of a God who invites us into His family, so it is both the Gospel and her professional background which motivate and equip her in this role.

Timothy Furlong

About Tim
Having spent three years as a Ministry Trainee, Tim now works one day a week on everything techie at St Mary’s. The rest of the week he works for a small local telecommunications company.
