St Mary’s Christian Workers Trust (CWT) is an independent registered charity linked to a Christian Basis of Faith. It was established to support Christian Work and Christian Workers focussed on the Basingstoke area and extending to UK and around the world. Recently about 78% of the budget of CWT has gone to support 6 staff of St. Mary’s PCC; more details can be found on the staff page. 19% has been donated to other Christian charities or Christian workers, especially partners of St. Mary’s Church, some in Basingstoke, some UK and some in other countries and continents around the world; more information can be found on the partner support page.
The generous support from our donors has meant that CWT finances are very strong and we are very grateful to those who have continued to faithfully give, both as regular donations and occasional lump sum gifts.
CWT is running at a large surplus in 2024 because for most of the year it has paid two fewer staff staff than in 2023 and received unplanned rental income for the house it owns, when it would have otherwise been empty following the departure of the Youth Worker.
The CWT Appeal – Autumn 2024 aims to maintain the current high level of reserves in order to support the anticipated recruitment of new staff in 2025. This could be with continued giving for both regular and occasional lump sum gifts at the 2024 level for existing givers and with new members of the congregation joining in giving for the next year. Please carefully and prayerfully consider continuing your giving, or beginning to give.
If you would like to change your giving to CWT please respond via the Response Form. If you are a UK taxpayer and have paid sufficient tax to be claimed on all your donations to charities then please tick the Gift Aid box on the response form.
